A plain ribbon on a tree is fine, sure, but it's not really doing anything. Once you put lights right into the fabric though, it turns into a completely different thing. Actually glows once it gets dark in the room instead of just sitting there as some background color nobody notices.

Lights built right into the fabric, not wrapped around after

This one's not a separate string light someone taped onto a regular ribbon. The lights are woven into the cloth itself. So the glow's coming from inside the whole ribbon, spread out evenly, not bunched up in one spot like some cheaper versions end up looking.

Bend it, twist it, wrap it wherever

It's 5cm wide, flexible enough to twist around branches or shape into a bow or run along a staircase railing if that's what you're doing this year. Doesn't stay stuck in one shape either. Reshape it over and over and the wire inside still holds fine.

Not just for the tree honestly

Wrap it around a wreath. Stick it on a gift box. Hang it off a shelf. Use it to finish off a garland over a doorway. It's small enough that it fits places a bigger light string just can't really work with.
